Joe Lynn Whitworth

Joe Lynn Whitworth, 83, a long-time resident of Holly Pond, passed away Nov. 14, 2025. Mr. Whitworth was born in Blount County on March 22, 1942, to the late Jesse and Imogene Whitworth.

Mr. Whitworth is preceded in death by his parents and several siblings.

Those left to cherish Joe’s memory include his beloved wife of 63 years, Carol Whitworth; daughters Donna Shikles (Rodney), Denise Sivley (Tim), Danett Taylor (Russell); brother, Johnny Whitworth (Sherry); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Friends were invited to join the Whitworth family on Monday, Nov. 17, 2025, for a time of visitation, beginning at 11 a.m. and concluding at 1 p.m. Funeral services followed visitation, beginning at 1 p.m., where Russell Taylor officiated. Both visitation and funeral services will be held in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed services in Liberty Hill Cemetery where Justin Shikles, Cody Sivley, Dylan Whisenant, Chris Mahan, Bailey Watts, and Matt Lee served as pallbearers, with Tim Sivley and Rodney Shikles serving as honorary pallbearers.
