Arthur E. "Rusty" Mitchell
Jr., 61, of Cleveland, passed
away peacefully at his home
Nov. 18, 2025. Born on July 31,
1964, in Birmingham, Rusty
was a beloved husband, father,
grandfather, and friend to
many.
Rusty married Marilyn
Thomas on Sept. 26, 1986, and
the couple was blessed with
more than 39 years of loving
marriage. They raised two
sons, Casey and Cody Mitchell, who brought immense
joy and pride to Rusty's life. His role as Poppa to his five
grandchildren — Brantley, Ryleigh, Hudson, Gracie, and
Lucien —was one he cherished deeply.
Professionally, Rusty initially worked for Group
Purchase Plan before venturing out to establish his own
business, ProSource Solutions LLC. He was also dedicat-
ed to coaching his sons' soccer teams, fostering not only
athletic skills, but also lifelong values and friendships
among the young players.
Rusty served faithfully as a deacon at Pinson First
Baptist Church, where he was deeply involved in var-
ious ministries, including the Gideons International.
His life was a testament to his faith, as reflected in his
favorite verse, Philippians 4:12, "I know what it is to
be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have
learned the secret of being content in any and every
situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in
plenty or in want." He lived out this truth every day with
gratitude, humility, and grace.
An avid outdoorsman, Rusty was passionate about
fishing and camping, often sharing these joys with chil-
dren as a Boy Scout leader. His commitment to teaching
and guiding youth extended beyond his family, impact-
ing many in the community.
Rusty was preceded in death by his parents Arthur
(Pete) and Barbara Mitchell. He is survived by his wife
Marilyn; sons Casey (Hannah) and Cody (Lydia); sister
Sandra McKleroy; and his beloved grandchildren.
Visitation was Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, from 6 to
8 p.m. at Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral
services were Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, at 11a.m. in the
same location, followed by interment at Mt. Joy Ceme-
tery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be
made to Compassion International or Mt. Joy Ceme-
tery. Contributions to Compassion International can be

Cemetery should be mailed to Bryan Faulkner, 82 Black-
wood Cr., Cleveland, AL, 35049.
Cleveland Funeral Home assisted the family with
arrangements. Rusty's legacy of love, faith, and commu-
nity service will be cherished and remembered by all
who knew him.
