Mildred Williams, beloved
wife, mother, grandmother,
daughter, sister , aunt, friend,
and devoted teacher went to be
with the Lord and her beloved
daughter Twila Nov. 2, 2025.
Mildred is survived by
her loving husband of 65
years James Edward Williams,
known by many as “Coach,”
and her grandchildren Elise
Harmon, Tessa Harmon, and
James Harmon. She is also survived by her siblings,
brother Frank Weaver (Sherry) and sister Linda Pesnell,
as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mildred received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree
in Education from the University of Alabama.
Mildred was a belovEd teacher of chemistry and
science to hundreds of students during her 40 plus
years at Oneonta High School. Her length of service is a
testimony to her love and devotion to educating stu-
dents. She received a Certificate of Recognition from the
state of Alabama and Governor Jim Folsom in honor of
being chosen as the Teacher Golden Apple Award win-
ner, an award given for being instrumental in the lives
of students.
She deeply loved her family, Lester Memorial Meth-
odist Church, numerous friends, and the community of
Oneonta Alabama where she resided for 65 years.
Visitation was Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, at Lester
Memorial Church from 10-11 a.m. and the service from
11 a.m. to noon.

Oneonta and Blount County Education Foundations.
Mildred is greatly missed, but her life and legacy can
live on through these organizations to which was she
devoted.
