Albert Ewing Drake,
79, of Blountsville,
passed away Sept. 23,
2025, at his home.
Albert was born
April 21, 1946, in
Huntsville, to the late
Louise Black and Al
Spraggins Drake. He
graduated from Oneon-
ta High School in 1964
and then served in the
U.S. Army National
Guard. Following his service, Albert spent time
working for the state and in the pipeline busi-
ness before opening and operating a family
poultry farm until his retirement.
He married Annette Hood Drake on May
22, 1970, and together they built a life cen-
tered on faith, family, and farming. Albert
enjoyed gardening, politics, cutting the grass,
and cheering for Alabama football, but above
all, he cherished time with his grandchildren
and other family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55
years, Annette; his children John Albert (Beth)
Drake and Jennifer Leigh Drake; his grand-
children Brooke Hart, Millie Grace Drake, J.P.
Drake, Eli VanDoren, Anna Beth Drake, and
Piper Van Doren; his brother Jim (Virginia)
Bellew; and his sisters,Waunita Fountain and
Becky (Larry) Patterson. He was preceded in
death by his parents and brother Paul Drake.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday,
Oct. 4, 2025, at Blountsville First United Meth-
odist Church at 2 p.m..

Methodist Church, P.O. Box 69, Blountsville,
AL 35031.
Blountsville Funeral Home assisted the
family with arrangements.
