Arthur Allred, age 83
was a Vietnam Veteran,
and a resident of Mont-
gomery. He went home to
be with his Lord on Aug.
27, 2025.
Mr. Allred was pre-
ceded in death by his wife
Annie Lee Allred, son Chad
Allred, and Jamie Capps;
parents Tollie and Annie
Allred; brothers Robert
and Annie Allred; Archie
Allred, Clifford James
Allred, Eugene and Shirley
Allred; niece Donna Valentine.
Survivors include his daughter Patsy Capps and
sister-in-law Fannie Allred; nieces and nephews Sire-
na Narrell (Jason), Bobby Allred, Sherry Kent (Jimbo),
Linda Dabbs (Larry), Cliff Allred, and Debra Hobson
(Shane); and a host of great nieces and nephews.
He was a beloved family member of Eastdale
Baptist Church in Montgomery. Mr. Allred was a
native of Oneonta and retired from the Alabama
Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation
as Chief of Maintenance Engineering with more than
32 years of dedicated service with Bryce Hospital in
Tuscaloosa and Central Office in Montgomery.
The family received friends Monday, Sept. 1,
2025, at Lemley Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until
8 p.m. A funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 2,
2025, at Lemley Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m.
with Brody McAlpine and Cliff Allred presiding. Buri-
al followed in Tidwell Cemetery.
Asked to serve as pallbearers were Jacob Pelham,
Jimbo Kent, Larry Dabbs, Brandon Dabbs, Shane
Hobson, and Austin Brower.
The family would like to give a special thanks to
Diane Butler for all her help and all she did.
