Lonnie D. Oden, age 82,
of Hayden, passed away
Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at
his home, surrounded by
his loving family.
A dedicated member
of Nectar First Baptist
Church. Lonnie was a man
of faith who found solace
and strength in his beliefs.
He retired from Loftis/
Robbins Inc., where he
served for many years,
demonstrating an unwav-
ering work ethic that inspired those around him. A
passionate farmer, Lonnie found joy in tending to his
land and caring for his beloved tractors, a testament
to his deep-rooted appreciation for the simple plea-
sures in life.
Lonnie was truly a family man, known for his
loving nature and his ability to bring people together.
He had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel
loved and valued, leaving a lasting impression on all
who were fortunate enough to have known him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Toney
and Letha (Montgomery) Oden; his brother Lynn
Oden; his sisters Ruby Grindle and Helen Jones; and
his son-in-law Dwayne Popwell.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Virginia
Oden; his sons Jeffery Oden (Nicole), Darryl Oden
(Kim), and Christopher Oden (Jeff); his stepdaughters
Tammy Price (David), Carolyn Popwell, Franches-
ca Dever, and Terri Dever; his brother Phillip Oden
(Sandra); his sister Goldie Malone; 12 grandchildren,
eight great-grandchildre; and numerous nieces,
nephews, and other family members.
Family and friends honored Lonnie’s life at a
visitation on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2025, from 11 a.m.
until 1 p.m. at Blount/County Cleveland Funeral
Home. A service celebrating his life followed at 1
p.m., officiated by Chaplain Richard Stryker. He was
laid to rest at Copeland Cemetery in Blountsville.
Pallbearers honoring Lonnie’s memory were
Robert Oden, Tony Oden, Zack Oden, Adam McClain,
Daniel Lamon, and Dexter Moates.
As we gather to remember Lonnie D. Oden, let
us carry forward his legacy of love, kindness, and
commitment to family. His spirit will forever remain
in our hearts, guiding us as we continue to honor his
memory in our daily lives.
