Marvin William Wilson,
Jr., born Nov. 21, 1963, in
Haines City, Fla., passed
away unexpectedly Aug.
31, 2025. Marvin was
known as Pawpaw by his
granddaughter Vivian, and
affectionately as Uncle
Marv by his nieces and
nephews.
Marvin was preceded
in death by parents Marvin
and Margaret Wilson. He
is survived by his daugh-
ters Diana Marie Wilson Vaughn (Will) and Emma
Rose Wilson; granddaughter Vivian Rose Tolbert;
sisters Cynthia Self (Tom) and Patricia Johnson (Joe);
brother Robert Wilson (Gidgett); nieces and nephews
Chris Self (Erica), Barbara Self Whitehead, Will Self,
Margaret Self Battles (Bo), Chris Johnson (Merideth),
Anna Stainback (Anthony), Kristan Morales (Gabe),
and Will Wilson; special friend Lisa Whittington;
and many great nieces and nephews.
Marvin never met a stranger and was always the
go-to person day or night if you needed anything.
Besides playing with his granddaughter, he enjoyed
spending time with family and friends, growing and
sharing beautiful Zinnias, swimming and fishing
with friends at the lake, the beach, and anything
outdoors.
Marvin was a Master Electrician until his retire-
ment. He served as an Integrated Electrical System
OMA Specialist in the United States Navy, Patrol
Squadron One, where he received a Bronze Star for
his service.
The family received friends Saturday, Sept. 6,
2025, from noon to 1 p.m. The service began at 1 p.m.
with Joe Noojin presiding. Burial followed at Shiloh
Cemetery.
Erik McCowan, Will Wilson, Ray Smith, Bo Bat-
tles, Will Self and Chris Self served as pallbearers.
