James Wilson Ingram

James Wilson Ingram, age 101, of Gardendale, passed away on May 3, 2025. He was born on June 16, 1923, in Clear Springs.
He graduated from Blount County High School in 1942. He then went to Snead Junior College for one year. He enlisted in the Army in April of 1943, where he served overseas, and was discharged in January of 1946.
He lived in Kent, Wash., where he worked in the electric utility industry for 30 years and retired in July 1983 as a Senior Substation Operator for the Bonneville Power Administration. He eventually moved to Decatur to care for his mother. He enjoyed gardening, travel, walking, and loved the outdoors and nature.
He is preceded in death by parents Edwin and Ludie Ingram; sister Lois Searcy; and brother Edwin Leon.
He is survived by sister Jean Daily and six nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Monday, May 5, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery beginning at 1 p.m. with Jason Griffin presiding. Burial followed. Lemley Funeral Home is honored to serve this famil
