101st birthday celebration

Lula Mae Stevenson eyes her delicious birthday cake and says she thinks that now, at 101 years of age, she has earned the right to eat only food that has sugar as the main ingredient! Her new perm, lipstick, rouge, and red dress make her look especially pretty for her birthday celebration Sept. 9 with her six daughters – Joan of Gadsden, Bonnie of Blountsville, Ramona of Oneonta, Elaine of Bossier City, La., Carolyn of Birmingham, and Brenda of Memphis, Tenn. Others attending were granddaughter Kendra of Cumming, Ga., and family friend Nina Morton of Oneonta, as well as the many employees of Golden Living who stopped by to wish “Miss Lula” the best. Even though the party was not as large as the one for Miss Lula’s 100th birthday, the love, laughter, joy, and tears were still much in evidence.
