100th Birthday

Henry Jarman ‘Hank’ Korner

Henry Jarman ‘Hank’ Korner

Henry Jarman “Hank” Korner of Oneonta celebrates 100 years today. To what does he attribute his longevity? He describes himself as “stubborn and bull-headed,” and says “I’ve tried to live by the Lord’s guidelines.” He attended The University of Alabama while Bear Bryant played football there and served in the U.S. Army as a welder. He taught welding at the then-trade school in Gadsden, and retired as part owner of a welding supply business in Knoxville, Tenn. He and wife of 77 years, Jeanette, currently live in Oneonta.

The family invites friends and family to join them for an informal celebration of a century of living on Sunday, Jan. 7, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Korner home. No gifts please, only love and laughter.
