WILLIAM DUSTIN “DUSTY” LEMLEY, 40, Memphis, Tenn., died Sept. 24, 2018. He was born a resident of Allgood and as a young man was a 1996 graduate of Prattville High School and Auburn University in 2001. He had a long and fulfilling career as a registered nurse in Georgia and Tennessee. Dusty was an accomplished cook and enjoyed giving delicious smoked meats to family, friends, and charities.
Predeceasing him were grandparents, Bill and Billie Lemley of Oneonta and Charles Deerman of Blountsville, and his aunt and uncle Cindy (Lemley) and Tommy McDaniel of Anniston.
Surviving are his wife, Liz Wilder Lemley; his parents William (Phyllis) Lemley of Mentone and Teresa (Paul) Peterson of Washington, D.C.; grandmother Daphine Deerman of Blountsville; brothers Jake (Lea Ann) Lemley of Pinson, Kyle Peterson of Washington, D.C., and Patrick Peterson of Washington, D.C.; uncle John Lemley of Lilburn, Ga.; aunts Karen (Tommy) Newman of Hoover, and Sharon Deerman of Huntsville; cousins Daniel Pannell, Grey Newman, Olivia Newman, and Beth McDaniel Johnson; step-brother Jon Eric Pountain; and step-sisters Lonie Butler and Erica Griffith.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oneonta, directed by Lemley Funeral Home.
