The varsity boys got a few games in over the last week.
Hayden and Southeastern faced off on Dec. 30 with the Wildcats coming away with a 73-61 win. Hayden currently stands at third in 5A Area 12 with a 1-1 record, 4-3 overall. They face the Mustangs again tomorrow, Jan. 7. Tipoff follows the girls game.
Southeastern played again Jan. 2, beating Class 2A Area 11 rival West End 56-38. They out hustled the Patriots grabbing 34 rebounds, 12 steals, and four blocks. They shot 43 percent for the game. The win puts them in third place in the area with a 1-2 record, 6-4 overall. Locust Fork
The Locust Fork Hornets sit atop 2A Area 11. They’re 3-0 in the area, 6-3 overall. The Hornets fell to Falkville 59-65 on Dec. 29. This Friday, Jan. 8, they travel to West End for an area game. The game will follow the girls.
Cleveland at 1-1 in Class 2A Area 11 currently holds the number two spot. They are 4-5 on the season. They faced Scottsboro on Dec. 28 losing by a score of 36-77. They travel to Hayden Friday, Jan. 8, and get started after the girls game. Susan Moore
In Class 3A Area 13, the Susan Moore Bulldogs currently hold the number one spot. They are 3-0 in area play with a 3-7 season total. On Monday, the Bulldogs fell to county rival Oneonta 36-49. They host area rival Holly Pond Friday, Jan 8. Tipoff is at 5:15 p.m. J.B. Pennington
J.B. Pennington sits at number three in 3A Area 13. They’re 0-1 in the area and 1-6 overall. The Tigers earned their first win of the season Monday beating Appalachian 51-39. They fell to area foe Brindlee Mountain 60-65 on Dec. 31. They travel to Brindlee Mountain Friday, Jan. 8. Game will start after the girls. Appalachian
