The Susan Moore Bulldogs broke a 21- 21 tie with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to take down Vinemont 35- 21 last Friday night in Cullman County.
Both touchdowns came from senior Angel Duarte. The first, a 33-yard run, gave the Bulldogs a 28-21 lead with just 3:09 to play.
The second score broke the back of the Eagles as Duarte stepped in front of a Vinemont receiver and streaked 84 yards to ice the game with just 1:14 left.
Duarte put together a great night, finishing with 141 yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries and completing his only pass attempt for 15 yards. On defense, he had nine tackles and a pair of interceptions.
Susan Moore got another steady night from Anthony Cervantes, who finished with 166 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. Andrew McEvoy added 59 yards and a score on 13 attempts.
Juan Calderon had seven tackles for the Bulldogs while Jacob Kelly had six tackles and a fumble recovery. Jesse Chappell and Ross Thompson had five stops each. Chappell had the Bulldogs only sack.
Susan Moore (2-6 overall, 2-3 in 3A Region 6) travels to J.B. Pennington (6-2, 4-1) this Friday.
