PEGGY JO HUNT WHITE, 80, Cleveland, died Oct. 31, 2017, at St. Vincent’s East Hospital, Birmingham. She was retired from the Blount County Board of Education. She taught and was an assistant principal at Cleveland and principal at the first Hayden Middle School. She was a member of the Alabama Educators Association and Delta Kappa Gamma and chairperson of the Cleveland Cemetery Board. She enjoyed all types of needlework, coloring, and playing Rook. Parents Ralph and Martha Rena Hunt predeceased her.
Surviving are husband Sherry White; sons Dr. Carl David White, Steve (Darlyne) White, Phil (Beth) White; daughter Ann (Ron) Tillman; grandchildren Mitch and Madison White, Hannah Tillman and J.T. Lee, Tyler White, Hunter and Brittney Birdyshaw, Hesston and Kelsey Birdyshaw, John White, Maris Tillman, Tristan Tillman, Michael White, Charlie White, Alex White; great-grandchildren Laney, Easton, Romy, Townes, Tatum, Avy; sister Patty (Delane) Moon.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 4 at the Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Cleveland Cemetery.
