OLIVER HENRY GARNTO, 86, Locust Fork, died Aug. 8, 2019, at Compassus/St. Martin of the Pines in Birmingham. He was a member of Locust Fork Baptist Church, loved to watch old westerns, and was an avid Alabama football and Braves baseball fan. Predeceasing him were parents Hoke Smith and Nellie Pearl Garnto.
Surviving are wife Vonnie “Missy” Garnto; son Doug (Carla) Garnto; daughter Dianne (Bob) Johnson; brother Larry (Wanda) Garnto; stepbrother Joe (Pat) Lowrey; half-brothers Smitty Garnto, Glenn (Susan) Garnto; sister Mildred (Wayne) Gilbert; grandchildren Daniel Johnson, David Johnson, Garrick (Amanda) Hock, Genna (Dustin) Hock; Kylee (Jake) Malone; great-grandchildren Sarah, Sophia, Olivia, Abram, Coralee, Carlee.
Rufus Harris and Randy Cater officiated the 2 p.m. service held Aug. 12 at Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Edgewood Cemetery. The family suggest memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
