VETERANS DAY AT HAYDEN ELEMENTARY The school invites the community’s help in holding a ceremony Wednesday, Nov. 9, to recognize local veterans as well as active members of the Armed Forces, who are invited to lunch beginning at 11 a.m. and a program at 12:30. The school would like to have pictures of them as well as of deceased veterans to be included in a PowerPoint presentation. If you have questions, pictures, or ideas on how to make the occasion more meaningful not only for students but for the veterans as well, you are asked to contact Dr. Shelly Vail-Smith svailsmith@blountboe.net or Dana Armstrong darmstrong@blountboe.net at Hayden Elementary School.

SUSAN MOORE PARK AND REC BOARD will serve breakfast Saturday, Oct. 1, at the community center beginning at 6:30. Eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, and drink, take-outs available. Proceeds go to Susan Moore Park.

SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY MEETING The Blount County Solid Waste Authority will meet at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, in the county commission chambers, in the county courthouse in Oneonta.
