BLOUNTSVILLE HISTORICAL PARK will sponsor the Daffodil Festival on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities include blacksmithing, butter churning, pottery-making, wood carving, story telling, living history exhibits, live music on the hour, and lots of good food. The park is located two miles north of Blountsville on U.S. 231. Admission is $2 per carload.
BROOKSVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT will have a fish fry Saturday, March 15, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the fire hall. The $10 plate includes fish, shrimp, or chicken, dessert, and drink. The event is catered by Swamp John’s and benefits the Brooksville Fire Department.

FARMWORKERS AWARENESS WEEK is March 24-28 and a longsleeved shirt drive will be held at Lester Memorial, Oneonta First Baptist, World Outreach, and the local Telamon office. BLOUNT COUNTY 2014 4-H CHICK CHAIN PROJECT Youth purchase 18 one-day-old chicks, grow them for approximately 22 weeks, then bring their top five chickens to the 4-H show and auction. The cost is $50 to purchase the chicks, and participants are guaranteed to get their money back when they bring three chickens to the show and auction during the Blount County Fair in September.
