Locust Fork’s Chris Musso was the head coach for the North in the 59th AHSAA North-South All-Star football game held at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery. Blount County was well represented at the game.
In addition to Musso, Hayden’s Konner Register was selected to play center for the North. The North put points on the board in the second quarter after MVP Keaton Wilson of Sylacauga scored the game’s first touchdown, making the score 6-0.
Wilson scored his second touchdown in the third quarter and also made the two-point conversion to give the North a 14-7 lead. With two seconds left in the third quarter, Quenton Young of Clay-Chalkville scored a touchdown increasing the North’s lead to 21-7.
One of the most exciting plays of the game was the final play when North linebacker, Perry Kirby of Athens, picked up a fumble at the one-yard line and fell into the end zone for a touchdown resulting in a final score of 27-14. This is the fourth victory in a row for the North.
