MATTIELENE GARGUS STOFFREGEN, 90, Oneonta, died Jan. 29, 2018. She was a member of Mountain Pointe Ministries Church and owner/office manager of Blount County Tractor for 25 years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Predeceasing her were parents Dewey and Princey Harvey Gargus, husband Winfred A. Stoffregen, brothers J.B. Gargus and Alton Gargus, and sister Betty Murphree.
Surviving are sons Allen (Mary Charles) Stoffregen, Freddie Stoffregen; grandchildren Melinda (Steve) Anderton, Cindy (David) Thomas, Lisa (Jimmy) Wester, Adam (Maggie) Stoffregen; great-grandchildren Anne-Marie Wester, Bailey Anderton, Alexa Wester, Dawson Thomas, Chaney Anderton, Macy Stoffregen, Lois Ann Wester, Wynn Stoffregen; brother Birl (Pat) Gargus; sisters Edell Warren, Evalee Phillips, Marilyn Kennedy.
Charles Martin, Adam Stoffregen, and Steve Anderton officiated the 1 p.m. service held Feb. 3 at Lemley Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Wester, David Thomas, Steve Anderton, Jerry Hill, Tom Ryan, and Adam Stoffregen. The family suggests memorial donations to the Blount County Children’s Center or the Animal Adoption Center of Blount County. Lemley Funeral Home and Crematory directed.
