Jamborees set for this week

The high school football regular season kicks off next week but all seven schools in the county will participate in a fall jamboree this week.

This week’s jamboree schedule:
Thursday, Aug. 20
Cleveland at Susan Moore 6:30 p.m.
Oneonta at Guntersville 7 p.m.
J.B. Pennington at Holly Pond 7 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 21
Hayden at Lawrence County 7 p.m.

Appalachian at Sardis 7 p.m.
Douglas at Locust Fork 7 p.m.

The opening week of the season will feature one game on Thursday night with Susan Moore traveling to Blountsville to take on J.B. Pennington.

Friday night, Locust Fork will take the short trip up 79 to battle Cleveland, Appalachian will entertain Spring Garden, Oneonta will host Arab, and Hayden will open the season by hosting region rival Cullman.

All regular season games will once again start at 7 p.m.
