Morrison’s Food Services coming to Blount Memorial Hospital Blount Memorial Hospital has contracted with the Morrison’s Food Service of Alabama, Inc. chain in providing management services for its cafeteria and dietary facilities. Under the contract, Morrison’s will supply a food services manager, as well as offer the benefits of its group-purchasing power. Hospital administrator Tom Hackney told members of the hospital board Sept. 12 the new manager would be in the Oneonta facility Sept. 19.

Spirit of cooperation pulling chamber together At the Blount County-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce membership drive moves toward its final days, executive director Phil Otto says the “countywide chamber has begun establishing

itself in fact as well as in name.” Speaking before a meeting of Nectar Town Council, attended by several interested citizens, Otto said, “The spirit of cooperation in pulling this chamber together has been fantastic. We’re competing with strong chambers in Cullman, Marshall, and St. Clair counties, and the more enthusiasm we have, the better.”

Hayden offers $500 reward for arrest of vandals The Hayden Town Council is offering $500 in reward money leading to the arrest and conviction of vandals who’ve tampered with the city water system. Mayor Jack White and and water superintendent John Francis were called out Aug. 22 to repair a damaged water line on Nyota Road, then responded Labor Day weekend to a broken valve located near the railroad underpass.
