Emily Dia, a Hayden native, was named Wallace State Community College’s 2019 Homecoming Queen during the annual festivities earlier this month.
Dia, a business administration major, has served in multiple student organizations including many leadership roles. She is student president of Phi Theta Kappa, Sigma Kappa Delta, and the Wallace State Writing Club. She also serves as the Rotaract Club chair of finance.
Dia plans to transfer to UAB to study accounting and finance upon graduating from Wallace State.
Dia was escorted by Garrett Johnson and crowned by Challie Johnson, last year’s homecoming queen. Other members of the 2019 Homecoming Court are: Raven Gilliland, West Point; Maya Jones, Hoover; Kaitlyn Wadsworth, Birmingham; and Riley Brown, Oakman.
