Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 28 of Blount County and Blount County Operation Grateful Heart reaped a joint reward recently for their partnering efforts as veterans helping veterans. From left: Lester Hallman, DAV Chapter 28 commander, Chase Moore, Blount County-Oneonta Agri–Business Center director, Donny Jackson, DAV senior vice-commander, and Richard Daviess, Fellowship of Christian Knifemakers representative and Outdoor Expo volunteer. The reward for service to veterans came in the form of a $250 check from the Fellowship of Christian Knifemakers. The Fellowship donated a richly decorated jackknife and accompanying sheath to be auctioned during the Outdoor Expo at the Agri-Business Center last week. All proceeds were given to the DAV chapter to divide with Operation Grateful Heart.
