TOWN OF CLEVELAND LABOR DAY CELEBRATION The annual fundraiser will be Monday, Sept. 4, at the park from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Local bands will provide music, there will be barbecue and chicken plates and fried pies for sale during the event, and there will be activities for the entire family. BLOUNTSVILLE AMERICAN LEGION Post 129, located at 1148 College Street, will be selling barbecue pork or chicken plates with all the fixings on Monday, Sept. 4, from 11 a.m. until… Legion Post 129, along with Disabled American Veterans, will sponsor an informational seminar for veterans and spouses of veterans on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m. Topics of discussion include eligibility benefits and spousal benefits. TOWN OF HIGHLAND LAKE will hold a work session at 6 p.m. and the regular council meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Anchor, 612 Lakeshore Drive. The Zoning Board of Adjustments will meet immediately after the council meeting.

CITY OF ONEONTA will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 5 p.m., in the council chambers to discuss Zaxby’s 772 agreement. Another public hearing will be at 5:15 p.m. to discuss the R1G zoning ordinance change.

HOFSTALER MEMORIAL CEREMONY has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23, at 11 a.m., at White’s Cemetery, located between Trafford and Locust Fork. Hofstalar was a Revolutionary War veteran and a memorial marker will be placed on his grave by the Josiah Brunson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Birmingham Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
