House of Kindness, a partnership of Hope House and First Baptist Church of Oneonta, will serve Christmas meals again this year to citizens who might not otherwise have a hot holiday dinner, according to Hope House director Bud Jones. The meals will consist of a serving of ham, beans, candied yams, and a dessert. The meals will be served on a pick-up, to-go basis only, since the House of Kindness dining location was closed and removed some time ago, and a new location has not yet been established. Those wishing further details and/or to request a meal for up to two persons, may call Hope House at 625- 4673.
Efforts to find a place in the immediate downtown area that can be refurbished as the House of Kindness kitchen and dining room are continuing, Jones said. He is uncertain as to when they will bear fruit, but continues to pursue all possibilities, hoping for a breakthrough, he said.
