ANNUAL PINE MOUNTAIN BBQ AND BLUEGRASS will be Saturday, June 27, from 11 a.m.until 7 p.m., at Pine Mountain Community Center. SPAY AND NEUTER ASSISTANCE The Carl Coleman Spay/Neuter Trust Fund, held and invested by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, is specifically designated for pet owners in Blount County to receive reduced price spay and neuter services. Call Blount County Animal Adoption Center Tuesday through Friday at 205- 625-6026 for approval or with questions. Approved participants will pay a $20 copay to Animal Hospital P.C. in Oneonta on the day of surgery.

BOY SCOUTS CAMP CARDS The Greater Alabama Council of Boy Scouts of America are selling Camp Cards to help support local heroes on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19. Discount cards may be purchased for local fire and police departments, EMS/paramedics, doctors, nurses, and others leading the response to COVID-19. Scouts will coordinate and deliver the cards. Cards, which contain more than $70 in coupons and discounts, may be purchased online for $10. ONEONTA PUBLIC LIBRARY is open with limitations. Hours are Monday, 9:30 a.m. until 7 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Number of patrons in the library at one time is limited to 50. No time limit applies, but we ask that you keep your visit brief. Only two people may be in the restroom at a time.

Please follow suggested safety precautions by maintaining six feet social distance and wearing a mask. Librarians will maintain social distance while assissting patrons and will not be expected to touch anything a patron has touched unless absolutely necessary. Contactless checkout (patrons will check out their own items with staff assistance) is being used at this time.

The book drop is open for returns 24/7.

BLOUNTSVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY is now open. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be guidelines and safety protocols in place to keep everyone safe and healthy. The Blountsville municipal swimming pool and playground remain closed until further notice.

PALISADES PARK is now open to the public. Playgrounds remain closed until further notice. Reservations for event, fire tower, and rock climbing are allowed if required social distancing can be maintained. Some hiking trails are not accessible due to storm damage. ALABAMA 4-H has a virtual club progam hosted on the Facebook page. New 4-H activities will be shared Monday through Thursday at 9 a.m. The week will wrap up with a live Zoom celebration on Friday at 9 a.m. Weekly themes will include: 4-H Goes Wild, Citizenship and Leadership, Healthy Living, Outdoor Recreation, Cooking, Virtual 4-H Summer Camp, and Agriculture.
