Purvis makes all-state

Nick Purvis, sophomore catcher for the Hayden Wildcats, was named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association second team all-state. Purvis’ batting average was .490, with 49 hits, 18 doubles, 5 homeruns, 44 RBIs, and 16 walks. He also threw out 9 of 18 runners attempting to steal bases.

DANIESE BORING, 90, Friday’s Crossing, died June 16, 2018, at Diversicare Health Center. She attended Union Hill Baptist Church.
