A 25-year-old Oneonta man was arrested for soliciting a child by computer on Friday. The Oneonta Police Department gained knowledge on the situation after receiving a call about a young girl walking near the Ala 75 bridge, north of Oneonta. Locust Fork cuts garbage pickup fee by 30 percent

The town council of Locust Fork requested bids for its trash pickup service, and was able to reduce the permonth rates from $17.01 provided by Allied Waste, the current contractor, to $10.95 with Waste Pro. Snead town engineer Robert Nelson proposed the town build a new storage tank and booster station to address recently discussed water problems.
