50th wedding anniversary



N.C. and Mary Brown will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, May 20, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at The Depot in Oneonta. The reception is hosted by children Steve (Becky) Brown and Sherrie Brown, and grandchildren Heather Brown, Hayley (Cory) Clark, and Matt Brown. Family and friends are cordially invited, and the couple requests no gifts.

AKEMAN HONORED



The Blount County Council of Garden Clubs, Oneonta-District II, honored Jo Akeman in the winter edition of Hortensia magazine. Hortensia is the magazine of the Garden Clubs of Alabama, and is published twice a year. Mrs. Akeman is a lifetime member of the Rose Garden Club in Oneonta, and was honored for her more than 60 years of service.

90th Birthday



Lottie Mae Cannon Nieters will celebrate her 90th birthday on May 12.
