Commission passes 2012 budget of $16,496,317, 8.6% below 2011

The Blount County Commission Monday passed the 2012 fiscal year expenditure budget of $16,496,317, after meeting as a group in only two budget-planning meetings. The amount represents 8.6 percent less than the 2011 expenditure budget of $18,049,376, reflecting the general economic condition of the state and nation.
