Phillip 'Peanut' Buttram

PHILLIP ‘PEANUT’ BUTTRAM, 81, Pinson, died Feb. 10, 2017, at St. Martin's in the Pines, Birmingham. He owned and operated B&B Trucking Company for 40 years and was a member of Pinson United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed building and racing cars. Parents Carl and Lillie Townsend Buttram, brother Sonny Buttram, and sister Faye Price predeceased him.

Surviving are wife of 62 years Martha Hilton Buttram; son Jerry Buttram, Oneonta; daughter Jill Buttram, Panama City, Fla.; grandchildren Chris (Daphne) Stewart, Addison, Kimberly ( Jason) Underwood, Oneonta; great-grandchildren Brody Underwood, Ty H. Underwood, Lane Stewart, Kylee Stewart.

Baxter Chisolm officiated the 2 p.m. service held Feb. 13 at Pinson United Methodist Church. Burial was at Marvin's Chapel Cemetery with Steve Bradshaw, Layn Odom, Donny Johnson, Steve Price, Mike Green, and Randy Phillips serving as pallbearers. Lemley Funeral Home and Crematory directed.
