Oneonta and Blount County arrest reports

The Oneonta Police Department arrested 11 different people for various crimes from June 11 – June 18. Four arrests were made for failure to appear and two of the suspects had additional charges, one for giving false information to law enforcement and one for theft of property (3rd).

Two individuals were charged with DUI. One had two additional charges, possession of a prohibited beverage and no driver’s license. The other DUIcharged individual had no proof of insurance.

Four more arrests included providing a false ID to obstruct justice, unlawful possession of marijuana, domestic violence (3rd), and resisting arrest.

Multiple charges were brought against one individual who was driving without a driver’s license, had no insurance, and had improper lights. He also was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana (2nd) and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Throughout the week Oneonta issued 10 tickets. Six were issued for either no insurance or invalid insurance. Three of those had additional tickets including two with no driver’s license and one with inadequate child restraints. Tickets were also issued for running a red light or stop sign, and another was ticketed for having no driver’s license and an expired tag. One individual was issued a ticket for improper lights.

The Blount County Sherrif’s Department reported 31 arrests from June 11 – June 18.

Three were arrested for negotiating worthless instruments. Four were arrested for criminal trespassing with one individual being charged additionally for no insurance and driving without a license.

Two arrests were made for burglaries. Five individuals were arrested for domestic violence. One had additional charges of nonsupport and menacing. Another had multiple charges including attempt to elude, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and driving with license suspended.

Five were arrested for DUI. Two had additional counts – one for no proof of insurance and the other for possession of prohibited beverage.

Two were arrested for probation violation or revocation, and three were charged for driving with suspended license.

Eight more arrests were made throughout the week. Charges included possession of drug paraphernalia, leaving the scene of an accident and having no insurance, failure to appear, criminal mischief (2nd), assault (3rd), unlawful possession of marijuana (2nd), theft of property (2nd) and one had three charges including two counts of possession of a forged instrument, child abuse, and harassment.
