Area tournaments this week

For most high school basketball teams, this week signals the end of the season. Area tournaments are scheduled for this week and only the top two finishers from each area will advance to the sub-region round next week.

Almost all fans of Blount County schools will be forced to travel for the area tournament. The Oneonta boys were the only team from the county to finish first in the regular season and win the right to host the area tournament.

The Redskins will host this week’s 4A Area 10 tournament. Every other school in the county will be forced to play on the road.
