United Way kicked off its annual fundrasing campaign in Blount County Tuesday with a food and fellowship celebration at The Depot in Oneonta. At 7:40 a.m. in Hayden on any weekday: the Ala 160 CSX railroad overpass offers a bird’s-eye view of school traffic associated with the county’s biggest school complex. Beginning its latest regular meeting, the Oneonta City Council recognized its retiring pool manager Terri Hubauer. David Elliott, park and recreation director, presented a plaque to Hubauer signifying her nearly 30 years of work for the city. Hayden High School
Additional bleachers on the visitors side of Hayden High School’s Robert W. Reid Stadium are complete. The project began in July when the Blount County Board of Education authorized the school and its Athletic Booster Club to build them. The club raised funds for the construction. More...
