Registration begins today, May 27, for Oneonta Public Library's summer reading program. Designed for children aged pre-K through sixth grade, the theme this year is "Be Creative at your Library." Each child who registers will receive a free book and a summer reading T-shirt, on which to draw pictures. More ... State Rep. The department was formed in 1924 as an all-volunteer department. The first piece of equipment acquired was a hose wagon that was typically pulled by firemen and attached to the fire hydrant closest to the scene of a fire.
