Fellowship Baptist selling cookbooks
      Readers of recipes re-printed in The Blount Countian by permission will recognize the name of Fellowship Baptist Church’s cookbook “Pleasures from the Good Earth.” First printed in 2003, the cookbooks have been so appreciated the church decided to have more printed. Unfortunately, the cookbooks arrived without the church’s name on the front cover and had to be returned for correction. They have now arrived and are for sale from church members.

50th Anniversary
      David and Katy Woolary celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a casual barbecue and all the trimmings March 21 at Palisades Park’s Dalton Moss Lodge. Hostesses for the gathering were the couple’s three daughters Janet (Mrs. Ross Lamont) of Locust Fork, Jamie (Mrs. Jim Watkins) of Arab, and Jennifer (Mrs. John Money) of Joplin, Mo. The Woolarys were married March 1, 1959, in Orlando, Fla., in a ceremony performed by Jerry Belchick. They have lived at Little Shenandoah at Locust Fork most of their married lives.

Stevens - Hicks
      Elizabeth Coley Stevens and Braxton Tyler Hicks, both of Hayden, will be married Saturday, April 25, at 2 p.m. in Cullman. Glennis Best will perform the ceremony, and Robert Freeman will give his daughter in marriage. The bride-elect is the daughter of Karen and Robert Freeman of Hayden and the granddaughter of Bobby and Gail Hill of Warrior and Faye Freeman of Jacksonville, Ala., and the late Bobby Freeman. The prospective groom is the son of David and Sandra Hicks of Hayden.

Parkins-Pruitt
      Bill and Donna Parkins of Locust Fork announce the engagement of their daughter, Ashley Nicole, to Tyler Blake Pruitt, son of Gordon and Loretta Pruitt of Huntsville. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Sue McCay of Locust Fork, the late Daniel Ray McCay, and Lee and Myra Parkins of Gardendale. She graduated from Locust Fork High School in 2004 and from Huntingdon College in 2008. She is now a teacher and coach at Susan Moore High School.

     RILEY KATHRYN LAKEY was born March 31, 2009, at St. Vincent’s East weighing 6 lbs. 14 oz. and measuring 21 inches long. Riley is the daughter of Chris and Shannon Lakey of Locust Fork and the granddaughter of William and Paula Smith of Locust Fork and Wanda Lakey Wilkerson of Lineville and the late Steve Lakey of Oxford. Greatgrandparents are the late Vernon Tawbush and the late Betty Tawbush Love of Locust Fork, Marzee Owen of Trussville and the late Boyd Owen of Trussville, Robert and Mary Smith of Locust Fork.
