Two Blount County teams that had not been part of the regional playoffs in quite a while qualified for this week's regional tournaments with impressive home wins in last week's subregion games. Applicants must be enrolled in school and be at least 14 years of age with a valid work permit, if needed. Applications can be picked up at Oneonta City Hall and must be returned by Friday, Feb. 20. Locust Fork and Oneonta will serve as the host sites for the two brackets of the double-elimination tournament. More ... The girls battled hard but fell by a score of 9-0 to older and more experienced Westminster Christian of Huntsville. More ...
