Coy Ray Wall

Coy Ray Wall, 86, of Trafford, passed away peacefully at home June 2, 2025.
Ray was born on Feb. 17, 1939, to Ernst and Selma Wall, who preceded him in death. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Ray was known for his steady faith, generous spirit, and love of the outdoors.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Thomas Wall, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his sons, Darryl (Diana) Wall, Gary (Shonda) Wall, and Kary (Shelly) Wall; and his grandchildren: Jessica, Nathan, Hannah, Garrison, Brody Wall, and two great-granddaughters: Magdaline and Louisa Wall
Ray was a godly man who lived out his faith daily. He served his church faithfully as a deacon and found joy in simple pleasures: fishing by the river, tending to his garden, and spending time with his loyal bulldog, Maddie.
In 1963, Ray was inducted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. He continued his service in the Army Reserve from 1965 to 1969. Following his military service, Ray worked for Associated Grocers (AG) in Birmingham, where he remained until his retirement in 2004.
Ray’s quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him.
A service to honor his life was held at Union Chapel Baptist Church on Friday, June 6. Viewing was at 10 a.m, the service was at 11 a.m..
