Doris Branham Lewis

Doris Branham Lewis, 83 of Pine Mountain, passed peacefully at her home and received her eternal promise to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 2, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1941, to Floyd Alfred Branham and 

Flora Branham Armstrong. She was the daughter of Alford T. Armstrong. 
Doris was a 1959 graduate of Springville High School. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Dewey, for 58 years, and a loving mother. She was head payroll clerk at The Birmingham News until choosing to be a full time stay-at-home mom. She was known as mom to many and fostered more than 30 children over a 15 year span. 
She was a woman of strong faith and a dedicated member of Oak Grove Baptist in Springville for 55 years. While on this earth she was blessed with many people in her life who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by father Floyd Alfred Branham; mother Flora McCay Branham Armstrong; father Alford T. Armstrong; sisters Sarah Duke and Minnie Jane Branham; and grandson Noah Sullivan.
She is survived by husband Dewey Lewis; children Darlene Lambert (Eric), Dewey Lewis (Elizabeth), Dottie Sullivan (Steve), Angie Cantrell (Jay), Ashley McCallie (Jay);  grandchildren Patrick Sullivan (Jennifer), Brandon Sullivan, Kevin Grubbs, Kelsey Ryan (Andy), Alyssa Hyman (Avery), Kaylie Cantrell, Elana Lambert, Andrew Lewis, Ryleigh Lewis, Hudson McCallie, Henry McCallie; great-grandchildren Jayce Sullivan, Andrew Tyler, Banks Ryan, Ellie Kate Sullivan, Emma Grace Sullivan; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 320 Oak Grove Road, Springville, AL 35146, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. A funeral service was held at the church beginning at 4 p.m. with Steve Sullivan and Patrick Sullivan presiding. Burial followed in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. 
Asked to serve as pallbearers were Dewey Lewis, Andrew Lewis, Patrick Sullivan, Brandon Sullivan, Jayce Sullivan, Jon Head, Rex Mullins, Kevin Grubbs.
